Discovering Upstate NY: Hudson

I recently made my way across the country to NY to attend one of my best girls’ wedding.  It was quite the adventure as the only place I’ve ever been in the Empire State is the Big Apple, never it’s surrounding areas.  Boy, was I in for a surprise!  The wedding was in Hudson (@ the Canon Ball Factory which is set to become the new head offices of!), I stayed there and in it’s neighboring town Catskill.  Both were lush, green, and full of space and wildlife — a very different story from NYC.  Luckily, I was able to spend a few days upstate and explored all of it’s quaintness with camera in-hand and ready to go.  It was a surprisingly artsy place!  Here are some of the goodies I found out and about in the town of Hudson:

across Rip Van Winkle!

on the beautiful Hudson River + Rip Van Winkle Bridge in the distance

a supercool Tree House!  look @ those 3D leaves!

   my fave –

feelin’ the blues

Besides the great landmarks, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing my friend + her groom, making new friends (yay!) and even had the chance to see/[attempt to] catch fireflies for the first time! 😀

I think I left my heart in Hudson NY.
